Last-minute calls are sometimes part of the routine, and I’m always glad to jump in and help the team make it happen.
I came in as a Video Engineer on this event to set up and build out Video Village for an offsite, live-streamed corporate meeting. The flypack was built around a Blackmagic ATEM and Hyperdeck recorder racks to handle records and playback. This also included #graphics, #streaming, #recording stations and signal flow for all room and remote production needs.
The meeting was to be seen by everyone on their national staff, so the production had to serve two audiences and destinations, and so I was cutting two shows. One for the in-room audience and for everyone watching it remotely in their national office locations.
With only one day for setup and one day for show, it was truly all hands on deck. We made constant tweaks and quick decisions right up to the last minute to maintain strong production value across every department.
